APPLE UPDATE MARKET REPORT SEPT. 2017

New crop of fresh apple will start harvest since this October. Although the plantation scale of Qiguan variety has been reduced in the past two years, the yield of the fresh apple for 2017 crop could still meet the demand from both market and deep production. However, due to the reduction in production and sales of apple juice industry, which impacts the fresh market tendency quite a lot, the supply of fresh apple for dehydration demand seems be ok this year. But there is an important factor which should not be ignored and might have impact in supply of dried apple in the near future, which is from the gradually strict environmental policy of the government. This environmental policy has already forced dehydration facilities in traditional plantation origin such as Shandong province to stop production or increase the production cost quite a lot.

According to the update field research, it is estimated that the carryover of dried apple could reach 7000-8000mts for this new crop and the production period could last 4-5months.

It is estimated the market might become firm with active demand from international market since this Oct. There is a big possibility that the prices of dried market will go up further.
